Meet the baker
Hi I'm Amy! This is a space for me to tell you a little bit about myself so lets get started :)

I am a baker based in Glasgow, I have had three years of training in professional cookery and patisserie from Dundee and Angus College and City of Glasgow College. I have been baking cakes for family, friends and myself since I was 12 years old and have always loved what I do.

In 2020 I was diagnosed with coeliac disease and thought this would be a major bump in my career but I decided to turn it around and start my gluten free baking journey.

Read my latest interview with Pielattes People to learn more about my journey.

For those of you who may not know coeliac disease is an immune disorder where your immune system attacks your tissue whenever you eat gluten, this then damages your gut which causes your body to be unable to absorb nutrients which can lead to things such as iron deficiencies. So overall it's not a great time, however once diagnosed it is a very easy fix as all your body requires is a gluten free diet. Once you've been on a gluten free diet for a month or two your body has started to fix itself and you can go back to enjoying your life as normal and eating delicious cakes from Whip.
